So, what now? Maybe they will resort to actual physical strip-searches "out of an abundance of caution?"

This subject came up just at the end of the Mark Davis radio show. Don't know if it had been discussed earlier as I haven't had time to listen. For those who don't know Mark Davis is a conservative talker and fills in for Rush time to time. He has a fairly large audience. He wasn't very kind to TSA in his brief remarks which is unusual for him.

If they make you pose two diff ways front back and sides and take two separate scans it doubles the time per pax. This hoses the device for large airports...dumbsh!T's....

BREAKING: The TSA is intimidating mainstream media into not covering this story. An MSM reporter read me an e-mail that from the TSA to them that "strongly cautioned" them against airing this story. I am trying to get a copy of the e-mail now, and you can believe I'll be filing a freedom of information act request if the reporter can't produce it. Stay tuned...

    How is that possible?

If it's just a crude attempt and an alleged incident and the other layers upon layers and layers of security would have worked, then what does TSA care if the MSM covers it?

Oh, that's right, their machines are junk, and this story proves it.

Please, Please let these things happen. Oh, and it would great if a copy of the email could be had. I would send it 20 times a day to my elected "representatives".

In both cases, yes, the detector is "2-D," whether constructed as a planar, cylindrical, or spherical surface array. However, there are important differences between the two; MRI involves tomography. You send beams THROUGH the subject at various angles; then based on the absorption of the respective beams as measured on the exit side, you mathematically reconstruct a model of the interior structure of the subject (Different tissues have different absorptive properties). In MMW, the beams are reflecting off the surface of the subject. I would imagine that, from the measured reflected intensities and time-of-flight, you then mathematically reconstruct the surface of the subject. Also, in the case of MMW, the beams are radio waves, with wavelengths on the order of the feature sizes being measured. Diffraction could be significant, and consequently it is possible that the range of measurement can extend beyond the actual rotation angle of the antenna.

How stupid can the TSA be? (rhetorical question) Instead of letting the story play out until it goes away, they're digging a very deep hole for themselves.

Isn't that horse out of the barn? I have heard this discussed on Fox News this morning, a national radio show, local radio, local print, UK print, India print, and no telling how many other outlets have ran the story.

If TSA is putting pressure on media then isn't that good evidence to support the truthfulness of your video? Obtaining that email will be another black mark on TSA.

Patdowns across the pond are far different and less upsetting than those in the US - my last one at LHR was a light skim of the hands that took less than 5 seconds and the person doing it apologized.

At one point in time, TSA put out a graphic that showed whatever actually going around a victim in circles. That must be what the "expert" is thinking of. I recall that because at the time I wondered how they were going to see up between someone's legs to "see" a crotch bomb and what was going to happen if it "saw" a sanitary napkin.

Hope you don't mind, Jon - I copied your post and sent it to my Congresspeople. They also go a communication from earlier this a.m. wherein I demanded that Blogger Boob be dismissed from his position for his disrespectful thread regarding your video.

    All true.

However, if the beams don't go to the sides of the body, they don't go to the side of the body.

And these beams do not go to the sides of the body. Look at this early report. It appears to show the MMW image. Note, the sides aren't really visible:

Trying to intimidate the media into not keeping us informed? Shame!

    They are running scared.

They really are completely incompetent idiots.

They are so scared of this information getting found out.

And now they're putting pressure on the media to keep it quiet.

What is it that TSA has to hide?
