    Yes, and yes.

You can only get so much mileage out of lies and deceit and imaginary problems. They're running out of steam.

I think they have hit the proverbial wall and it will take some creative actions to get over the wall. I don't think TSA has the people to do so.

Well, actually he's right. He wrote "suaded" and not "sueded." It's an archaic form of "persuaded." Also a cyber-speak form of it. So no telling if he's an old linguaphile or a young hipster.

Anybody remember the great British TV series "Yes, Minister" (later "Yes, Prime Minister")? Apropos:

Mike its always interesting to see what "expert" ch8 (wfaa) pulls. Thank you for the little tidbit he was a deputy for JoCo SO. I'll send a couple contacts a ring and get the scoop on him, and if he's a honest upstanding member of society or a perverted bad egg that TSA recruits purposefully. I suspect it's the latter and will be easy to discredit and shame in short order.

The story made the morning show on WBAP radio. The expert, didn't catch his name, tried to make it sound like Jon is wrong but didn't come out and say that. This show isn't over by a long shot and we owe it to Jon to keep the noise level up as high as possible.

That "expert" clearly doesn't understand how imaging technology works. He simply doesn't get it.

I guess he say a 3-D image in his little frosted peeper booth and assumed it "took" a 3-D image. Not how this stuff works. At all.

He (Paul Gaumond) also makes some asinine comment about the detectors making a "full circle" around the subject in new machines, which is patently false:

No, you moron, it does not "do a circle". Any idiot can look at the new machines and see that they don't circle the body. They simultaneously scan the front and the back of the body. Anything on the side of the body, as Jon demonstrated, will be missed by even the new machines because even the new machines don't "see" the sides of the body, regardless of the "realistic" 3-D image they create in the peeper pervert booth.

Jon isn't confused about old technology. Had Paul Gaumond actually paid attention he would have noticed that BOTH machines were tested, in the field, in actual airports. I really hope people realize that Paul Gaumond is an expert in his own mind only and really has no clue. None.

Maybe you can go over to that website -- radio station -- and post this comment there.

Will do. I posted on the original article Mike linked. Didn't realize there was a new one.

Man, it is hard to keep up with these idiots!

It is hard to keep up. Some days I have more energy for it than others.

Have a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3EhqO-r8k4&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL6B57F05C39C7248E

At the beginning, you can see MMW images rotating as displayed on a computer monitor. They are three-dimensional, and as I have pointed out earlier in this thread, you can actually see the emitter/antenna rotate around the subject as he/she is being scanned in the MMW booth. However, the angle of rotation is limited by the entrance and exit portals on the booth; it does not cover the full 360°.

Watching this video again, I now notice that there is an abrupt transition of the images as they're rotated towards the side view; perhaps there are blind spots over an angular range on the sides.

Oh, sorry, I have no idea. I just posted the link so it was there. I don't know if they accept comments anywhere. The home page looks kind of a mess -- so busy.

I didn't post it but WVUE (Austin) cloned the WFAA article.

    That's just it.

This is precisely how MRI works. It creates a 3-D image from an algorithm assumed from 2-D capture. The sides of the TSA's victims are never "seen" by the MMW machines, merely rendered. Since idiots like Paul Gaumond see a visualized 3-D image in the pervert booth, they assume it takes a 3-D image. It merely creates one.

Which is why Jon's test was successful. It proves what we've known all along: that regardless of the technology, the sides of the subject are never actually "seen".
