Good as he is on the Patriot Act, TSA, Real-ID, etc, his anti-choice stance is a deal killer for me. I admit it, I have a litmus test and a candidate's stance on reproductive rights is it.

I believe Paul thinks this is a matter for the states (see http://reason.com/blog/2011/04/27/ron-paul-explains-his-anti-abo), although he's against it on moral grounds, as the fetus has some rights as well. If the people of an area support it, it really couldn't be made unlawful, otherwise you'd get to the point of juries not convicting for it, as happened in canada and ireland before they legalized it. all academic because I think there is a better chance Congress will balance the budget than Paul has of getting elected. but by all means, write in the candidate of your choice. I'm done voting for a reprobate simply because I think he's marginally less evil than his opponent.

    That's really where I am.

I'm tired of being held hostage by democrats who essentially say "vote for me because even though I'm terrible, I'm better than the republican candidate'.

There are some things that I like about Obama, but he falls so far short of what I was hoping for. I didn't have any kind of expectation that he would be good, but I had a hope....

I'm sure I've said this elsewhere (and I apologize for the repetition) but I thought Obama would be better than Bush on civil liberties. I wasn't expecting a sea change because that's really hard to do, but I thought he'd gradually start to get us back where we were in 2000. Instead, he's worse than Bush on several issues!

Paul polls even with Obama. Electing him would not be the problem, getting the banksters to allow that would.
