30 Pepper-Sprayed Outside Santa Monica College Board of Trustees Meeting
What is it with CA college cops and spraying chemical weapons at innocent students?
Spray now, bullets later.
classic case of PTPS (Pike the Pig Syndrome)
Just sent to me on email, forward of a forward; haven't had a chance to read the whole thing, gotta run:
Whoever sent you that needs to finish waking up, take a look around & update the rather tired rhetoric. Dubya's been out of the picture four years. This event was an Obamanation, an expression which might also be passé after next November.
You're right. I just got back and read the whole thing. She's right about the other stuff, though. (And hey, she's only quoting a pronunciation of Dubya's, not blaming this event on him.)
Right. Dubya was just another bad man at the levers of power. He's not there now. And really, in Santa Monica, neither is Obama. This is purely a local attempt to stamp out protest by force. Although I'd suspect DHS factors in there somewhere, perhaps telling the locals to get tough.
They wouldn't necessarily even have to say anything to the locals directly. DHS has been granting money and equipment to police departments for some time now, militarizing them and giving them fancy new toys with which to oppress their respective populations. The fact that this trend continues sends an unspoken message of endorsement and condonation of police utilizing military-style force, resources, and mentalities when dealing with local problems. That other PDs are getting away with it (at least mostly, YMMV regarding the public outrage over UCDavis last fall) says to this one "hey, it's okay, everyone's getting in on the action and the government isn't cracking down on abuse of power."
Piggy see, piggy do.
Gee, how quickly we forget Kent State!
So what'll the new term be if it's Romney?
There's only one potential candidate under whom I can see this sort of thing grinding to a halt. And I'm just as sure that he'd never be elected - the military/industrial complex dedicated to providing blue gloves, Nude-O-Scopes, and .40S&W ammunition would never stand for it.
Okay, so we have "Bushwacked," "Obamanation" (perhaps should be "Obamination"?), now we need one for Romney. I'm really bad at this stuff, so I'll have to leave it to others more clever to come up with something. All I can think of is turning "indemnify" or "indemnification" into "Romnify" or "Romnification."
(See, I told you I was lousy at this.)
I was thinking along the same lines -- inRominified, irRomnified.
"Bushwacked" is a real word, "Obamantion" rolls off the tongue.
Somebody will come up something in due time.
A bit off topic but did anything ever happen to Pike the Coward.
John Pike, who sprayed innocent kids with one of the strongest mixtures of pepper spray available, is being sued by the ACLU. The UC Chancellor apologized for his behavior. Yet he still works at UC.
Can we refer to Romney supporters as "Rominants?"
This is the one I've been waiting for!
Could be a revision of "revenant" or "ruminant." Both are applicable.
Can someone tell me what the above quote says? She, the police chief and Pike all need to be gone.
Separate names with a comma.
