Apparently the 5 "opted out" of giving passengers their randomized abuse, but have no fear -- they brought in some real gropers from elsewhere ...

ABC 7: 5 TSA employees removed from duty at RSW

So why the (expletive deleted) is the random abuse necessary, if "all bags and people were screened and travelers were never in danger"? This is just more confirmation that it's mostly theater.

Is this about the RSW 5 or something else?

Politico: John Mica tells TSA to come clean about airport 'meltdown'

Could this be the "unnamed Florida airport meltdown"?

I am not sure, I am truly interested in what Mica is talking about as well. I would think that a melt down would involve more than 5 employees, and by what he said, the incident involved management as well. This does not sound like what he was describing, this sounds more like an incident a la Hawaii last year.

Did we really need the confirmation? It's been obvious to any rational person for a decade that the TSA contributes nothing more to actual security than the previous contractors, and is far more abusive.

If they are *not* groping people at random, they should be given a raise. Fire the other *ssholes who grope.

At this stage of the TSA's "developments," I say just fire them all.

This is the only incident which is being talk about in the last few days so this is likely the object of discussion. TSA's attempt to hide this from the public by not being responsive to inquiries tells everyone that John S. Pistole has no respect for how our government works and that the citizens are who he reports to.

So tell me West, just how do you as a person of good conscience continue working for the most corrupt federal agency in the history of the United States?

You could be right, but I have not seen any other info added, so I can't confirm. The only other thing I can think of is that something has happened outside of this and they are doing the investigation before releasing the info on it.

I am fine with where I work, like you, I like some of the things my employer does and dislike some of the the things they do. I do what I can to make a positive difference for all involved - same as it has been since I have been here.

So you have no problem working for the most corrupt federal agency in the history of the country?

Nor do any of the soulless thugs, thieves, morons, and/or perverts working for Pistole.

It's impossible to respect people if you can't respect yourself, and there's not a single current TSA employee with an iota of self-respect - or they'd be out working real jobs instead of abusing the American public on the basis of a lie.

Someone at the other site posted an interesting surmise that this could have involved retaliatory screening, selective screening of females for prurient purposes, and the like. That would explain TSA's extreme reluctance to say squat about this particular issue.

I wouldn't read too much into that. The TSA is starting to grasp that they look like the utter fools they are every time they issue a statement, so they're starting to show reluctance.

I merged the "meltdown" threads -- it's sounding more & more as though they are the same event.

    Now this ...

News-Press: Congressman wants TSA to 'come clean' about termination of 5 employees at RSW

Your sentence was to long. Should have read; TSA is starting to grasp that they look like utter fools.

The story's getting better, and they are looking like utter fools ... as usual

MSNBC: Dozens of TSA workers fired, suspended for screening violations

And again, this is a sign that someone is totally full of :trash::

If "passenger safety was never jeopardized", then your random checks are worthless. Period. Stop. End of sentence. This latest "scandal" once again proves what a complete theatrical waste TSA & its "security" procedures are. These morons are so (expletive deleted) stupid that they just keep repeating their own lies and contradictions.

And millions of Americans keep lapping up those lies and contradictions and spitting them back out. People like, oh, Arthur Frommer, for instance, or Michael Dresser, or Ms. Highly-Paid-National-TV-Network-Correspondent-Whom-So-Far-I-Haven't-Named, or countless others.
