ABC News: 4 Ways to Protect Your Stuff at Airport Security

    The executive summary:

The problem with nos. 2 & 3 is that TSA's Neanderthals are more than eager to grab your bags out of your hands and send them ahead of you when you yourself can't move forward. I had several intimidating encounters with the low-lifes at STL & IAD over this when I won't let go of my bags.

Ggrabbing ones bags out of ones hands would that not be going down Assault & Battery territory.

I put everything insid my laptop case and lock it wth a NON TSA lock. If they want to check my case, I have to be there.

Also - My wallet goes into a small leathercase (inside my computer case) with its own NON TSA lock on it. If I open the case for them to look, I WILL NOT unlock my wallet for them.

At STL the bully signaled for a supervisor to come over & deal with the "problem". "Do you have a problem here?". I replied in no uncertain terms that my bags did not leave my hands until I could step into the WTMD.

At IAD the Neanderthal retaliated by leaning his weight on my pack for several minutes (holding up the whole line) until HE decided to let the bag & myself through. He crushed a small box that sometimes holds my hearing aids but nothing else was damaged.

Encounters like these (and I have NEVER had any similar experiences overseas) are why don't miss flying and won't resume flying as long as TSA is in the picture.

I would have not stood for that I would have had a LEO called to file a report and then dog the DA to prosecute.

More people not only have to get groped but have to get stuff stolen before we're even close to changing anything. I think we have a long wait ahead of us.
