In conjunction with an iPad-theft story already being discussed in TUG here, ABC News has set up a Facebook page where people can relate their TSA experiences: http://www.facebook.com/YourTsaExperiences This should be a gold mine.
The more the merrier. All of you on facebook --- be sure to share so that those of us not on facebook can enjoy.
Will do. I'm at work now and will look in the morning when I get on a computer that is not infected with net nanny.
A common thread on this site seems to be that the majority of people who had things stolen and filed a complaint either didn't get a response or were told there was nothing that could be done. No wonder the TSA steals things knowing they have a very good chance of getting away with it. I think at the end of their shift ALL TSA employees should have to go through the scanner and have any bag, purse or package in their possession go through the x-ray machines. Because if all the passengers are considered a possible terrorist then all TSA employees (because so many have stolen) should be considered possible thieves. Maybe throw in a thorough pat down just for good measure too!
Great idea, but who's watching the screeners performing this employee screening? If TSOs can be bribed to smuggle in contraband, their supervisors can surely be bribed to let thieves past their employee screening. Individual screeners and supervisors are not beholden to Congress. Only Pistole is. The agency's culture starts at the top, and Pistole's career should be on the line because of this rampant thievery in his agency's ranks.
Me too. Apparently TSA pissed off Brian Ross or some ABC bigwig and are getting hammered following the iPad theft. It's about time a major media outlet picked up on the corruption and crime at TSA. They report enough incidents that this sting and follow ups should have been a no-brainer a year ago.
My big fear is that he's going to dis the wrong person and said person will take him out of the equation. We don't want this to happen. Blogdad Bob is the biggest example of TSA incompetence given national exposure. He is a PR disaster for TSA and we want him on the job.
Posted an hour ago on the ABC Facebook page: Joel Quebec I used to be a police officer (now active duty military). I resigned from that job because of bad cops and lack of support for my Reserve obligations. I applied to TSA. I was not hired and given no reason. Once while traveling thru my local airport on my way to Reserve duty, one of the TSA officers was someone I and a couple pther cops had arrested for drugs. Not just weed but some serious stuff I later learned was meth. What kind of people are running this organization?
Yep. There's no two ways about it, Bobbo the Azzclown is a classic sleaze. Having such a wretched low-life as the TSA's front man couldn't be better if we had chosen someone for the position ourselves. "Limbo a Little Lower Now" is his signature act. He never fails to slither under the bar.
But don't assume that Bob's the only one on the "Blog Team" who's a lying slimeball. Every member of that "team" fits the description.
