Abortion & the military

    I beg to differ. Yes, she can still get an abortion if she was raped but it would not be covered by her military benefits. It was not her fault nor her lack of responsibility that caused a pregnancy. Under these circumstances, even if a military hospital chooses not to actually perform the abortion, at least her health benefits should pay whatever provider is available to her. If we want women to really think about the option of abortion and the subsequent consequences then why shouldn't we offer counseling to a soldier who is struggling with her conscience concerning her options.
