I received a notice from Wendy Thomson of Freedom To Fly USA about this upcoming ACLU event in Michigan. She suggested all TUGgers check with their local ACLU for similar events and if none are scheduled, encourage them.

While I love the idea of this I am so disappointed ACLU hasn't been effective in stopping the nonsense. Even their moniker "Because Freedom Can't Protect Itself" is just words and words without actions are pretty much useless.

At this point, I wouldn't go to any ACLU-sponsored event. What a huge disappointment they have been.

Slightly OT, but NatGeo is going all-out apparently with 9/11 stuff, beginning with the liquid bomb nonsense which they tag as "the biggest threat to the US since 9/11" or some such garbage.

So why am I watching NatGeo? I'm a huge fan of Cesar Milan....

Be prepared for insanely hyped hysteria as the 9/11 anniversary approaches.

All the more reason to counter it in an organized fashion.

Lawyers think TSA is untouchable. Their FAILURE to speak up (even if they aren't bringing a case), should not go unrecognized.

The national ACLU has been worthless on the TSA, but some local chapters are still worth supporting. Local branches often have different priorities from the national.
