Copying and pasting from a CLG (Citizens for Legitimate Government) newsletter: Let me add a caveat that I get it -- I know there are people who want to do harm to the U.S. (and let me also add that I understand why -- these things don't exist in a vacuum) -- okay? I'm not naive. I don't think everything in the world is rainbows and unicorns. But this constant hyping of a state of fear is not about "keeping us safe" -- it's about keeping us malleable. It's about stuffing the pockets of the fear industry. And even if it weren't, even if it were genuinely about security, succumbing to paranoia and hysteria at every turn isn't going to do anything to "keep us safe." Do I really have to trot out that Twilight Zone episode again??
