America values TSA screeners more than it does Marines

On Veteran’s Day as we reflect on the 800,000 Americans who have died in military action, it's disturbing to realize that our government values federal bureaucrats more than those who have fought and died in this country's history.
The Washington Examiner recently reported on the TSA ratification of a collective bargaining agreement through the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), which now represents airport screeners. And there are some perks in that contract:
“TSA employees will see their uniform allowances nearly double to $446 per year,” the House Transportation Committee noted in a press release on the TSA’s new collective bargaining agreement. “By comparison, a combat Marine Lieutenant receives a one-time uniform allowance of $400. The cost of the increase in TSA uniform allowance is an estimated $9.63 million annually.”
Over 40,000 Marines have been killed in action. A Marine gets only a $400 uniform allowance in a career. No TSA worker has ever been killed or even injured on duty, but someone who spends 30 years violating our rights will receive $13,380 in uniform costs, over 33 times that of a Marine.

Not only have the TSA and its workers been complicit in eroding our liberties and destroying the Fourth Amendment, but elected officials sworn to defend the Constitution now reward them for it.
These bureaucrats openly disrespect our veterans by elevating the mall cops of the federal workforce above the most honored and decorated of our Armed Forces.
