Star Tribune: Whistleblower: Amtrak left pair on the tracks in Minnesota
obviously that crew was composed of ex-TSA employees. How brain dead can you get? with any luck, the ones responsible for dumping these folks will get fired.
Whoa. Hard to believe someone, especially with the normally great Amtrak, could be this stupid. Seconding n's comment about ex-TSA employees.
I'm willing to cut Amtrak some Amslack (hrr hrr) given that reports like this are so incredibly rare.
Granted, in this particular case, they have some serious right-making to do, but I have a feeling these two people are going to be enjoying a lot of free fare and/or upgrades on Amtrak for a good while to come.
Well, so far they've been offered only a voucher. Which they refuse to use, saying they'll drive or -- ugh -- fly next time. Wait'll they get abused by the TSA; they ain't seen nothin' yet.
Amtrak needs to do more for them than just a voucher.
They didn't "Dump" them, they told them the policy was to carry them to the next staffed station, which was all the way in North Dakota, and then put them on the next train heading back their way. OR, since they were still there in the town, and they had a cell phone, they could have their ride come pick them up there.
