Hasn't been signed by the governor just yet but could certainly chill discussions and posting on blogs and news sites.

So much for freedom of speech.

If the governor signs it, it will be challenged in court and it will die the death it needs to die.

Good commentary on The Volokh Conspiracy - Eugene Volokh is a law professor and First Amendment expert. Also some good coverage on MSNBC. And it's not just the First Amendment this potential law offends, it's the Fifth Amendment too.

I liked this paragraph from the MSNBC article:

First Amendment rights group Media Coalition, which represents the Motion Picture Association of America, the Recording Industry Association of America, the Association of American Publishers and other related groups, says the bill is not only a violation of the First Amendment, but is so far-ranging as to be preposterous.

What is it with Arizona these days? So many goofy bills out of that state right now.

This is the state that keeps re-electing Sheriff Crazy Joe. 'Nuff said.
