Several of my posts have been deleted over the past week or two. I haven't been taking screen shots, but might begin that practice. The ones that were deleted were somewhat snarkey, but not rude. One that remained was an outright put-down of the TSA in general, in response to the questionable connection between genitals and a pork-hock that a pax was attempting to carry onboard his flight. ...Go figure?!

Do as I did - take screenshots compulsively and note in your sig that you're doing it. It can't technically stop alterations and/or deletions but it can let those responsible know that you've got them by the optic nerves in case of dispute.

I have no doubt he is a TSA employee, and he plays a very important part of personifying the hubris and stupidity of the whole organization.

He's also dropped a few operational gems that the TSA would probably not want publicized, such as, on average, just as many LEOs are are caught going through the checkpoint with firearms as regular citizens. Which makes sense if you factor in that people with CCW permits that carry all the time could be just as forgetful as an LEO when they go on their once-a-year flight. Leaving the house with your firearm is the same thing as remembering your cell phone for many. The TSA makes the number of people caught with firearms a public statistic, leaving out the LEO angle, to give the impression that they are stopping waves of terrorists on a weekly basis.

But there's also fabrication of facts. One of my favorite /facepalm moments was when he claimed that some domestic airlines require their crews to be armed. I asked him which Part 121 carrier does that, and he replied "Part 121 of what?" One of his coworkers (who is generally well regarded) called him a dumbkopf, and I replied something like "Just let him go, it's fun watching him make his own gravy when he posts. " :p Of course, our replies were deleted.

If you do the FaceBook thing, you can give him an invite through his page. I hear his Friends list is a little thin.:D

He had one friend but it didn't last too long. He also talks to himself on his profile page.

There are two kinds of TSA employees.

Those who discredit the organization every time they put on the blue shirt and tin badge.

Those who discredit themselves every time they put on the blue shirt and tin badge.

The organization is irredeemable, composed of people who know they're not making a difference but enjoy the opportunities to grope, steal, and be thugs, and those who're too stupid to know they're not making a difference but believe they are.

not to quibble, but I don't agree the TSA is accurately represented by that clown. If you were right, we would be skrood. My surmise is that there are more than some vestiges of shame in the ranks and in the "corridors of power" in the TSA. The political furor has helped their perception that what they are doing now is simply wrong, and has helped them start doing the right thing. If SATTSO's intel is even close to right.

loose cannon, loose lips. Do you remember in one of his posts Ronnie said he applied for Blogdad Bob's job. Oh, how I wish he had succeeded in getting that post.....

Reminds me of the famous inscriptions on a grave at Tombstone, Arizona: "Here lies an old Liar, still".

is this page for real? yikes. yet another reason never to do a facebook page....

That FB page has to be a high point. Of what, I am uncertain.

Oh, my stars, I missed that one!!!!!!!

However, one part of me still feels that he is not a screener.......don't ask me why 'cause I can't put my finger on it other than to say that there is something about the way he writes that doesn't ring true to me.

Further, we know from past history that the TSA has gone after other posters on FT who were screeners and made them go away for "crimes" that don't hold a candle to what Ronnie write. His comments are so bizarre that I believe even the TSA would tell him to cease and desist if he were one of them.

The other place has really taken a down turn since its reorganization, Ron was about the only entertainment left. It has really grown quiet over there since he got canned.

His "canning" had nothing to do with my departure. The systematic promotion of the TSA to the detriment of the traveling public killed my participation over there.

well that reorg was a canned witch hunt IMHO and the mods have been dancing around on eggshells any questions as to why they fkull sucked the forum, but I have a very good idea as why.

I suspect you're mistaken -- having been involved with FT for several years and having met/known many of the key insiders & mods in person, I'm pretty sure it was an "inside job" perpetuated by a small but influential group of insiders who want it to reflect their ideal of an icky sweet "helpful" community. What's most interesting is that several of the key complainers still don't participate now that it's been reshaped (flattened might be a better choice of words) to their liking.

They got their cake, now let them eat it.

So you believe it was all PC as seen in the eyes of a select few who wanted the changes.

Not even political correctness, but it definitely was an inside job.

I'm late to this thread, but...yes, Ron was suspended for a while several months ago, at the same time I was. His lasted for only a week, while mine was two weeks. Not sure why. I remember the post I got suspended for. I'd received several warnings that I was being "disruptive" and "calling out another member" when Ron kept questioning the facts of my abusive pat-down in OKC. Another member (can't remember who) posted that he was less upset about Ron, who never admits TSA wrongdoing, than he was about a couple other TSOs on the board who genuinely seem like nice people and have acknowledged that there have been "mistakes made"...yet they still firmly believe in their mission and that it's the right thing to do (provided the rules are followed). It was something like, he's less troubled by TSORon than he is by the other TSOs who, in spite of being good people, cannot see the truth that touching our sex organs is wrong NO MATTER WHAT.

I posted, "Yeah, I agree. We expect evil people to do evil. What's surprising is when GOOD people do evil, or stand by when others do it, or don't even recognize it when they see it being done."

That was too much for the mods, I guess, to suggest that Ron might be evil. The funny thing is, I didn't even mention Ron's name in my post...whereas I've seen innumerable posts directly attacking Ron that are exponentially *worse* (if you can call it that...in my mind I'd just say *more accurate*) than mine, and nothing was done. While I never backed down in my FT posts, I never thought I was nearly as openly antagonistic as many others. And yet I got canned??

Shortly after my return, I can't even remember why, but I got a message that I was banned from the TS/S forum altogether. I couldn't even see it. All other forums were visible to me, except that one. The only way for me to read it now is to log out and read as an unregistered guest.

I saw the "cancer is like a cold or fight with my teenager" thread. Beyond monstrous. I copy/pasted some of his comments over on Christopher Elliott's blog - he does a weekly article on the TSA. I am torn - IS he a TSO? I dunno - he seems over-the-top even for them. I definitely agree he's a classic sociopath. I mean, what kind of person actively seeks to spend large chunks of their time in a place where everyone thinks you are evil, monstrous? What kind of mentality must a person have to CHOOSE to make people hate you...and then spend all your free time goading them? I think it's clear he's mentally unstable, in the worst kind of way - the kind of person who truly enjoys inflicting pain. A true, honest-to-god sadist. Gather together a room full of rapists and serial murderers -- people who enjoy hurting, maiming, killing -- and stick Ron in there. He'd fit right in. That's his demographic.

I would LOVE to see him here. He'd be ripped to shreds. The problem at FT is we can't call it like we see it. Here, he'd have to face the music. Thing is, he'd probably enjoy it. If you've ever seen the movie "The Dark Knight", there's this scene where the Joker is in jail, and he goads a cop into beating him up. The cop says "I know you're gonna enjoy this, so I'll just have to enjoy it even more," and you can see in the Joker's eyes he IS going to enjoy it. Well, that's how I see Ron. He's very much like the Joker from that movie: he likes to hurt, thrives on making people hate and fear him. He's an "agent of chaos".

But having Ron here would give us a great outlet for our anger, wouldn't it! :pAnd, it would allow us to take his words and use them against the TSA elsewhere, in more public forums.

Welcome to TUG, Ron. Hopefully you'll last longer than sattso, who flamed out rather quickly here in a less structured environment.

I especially like your avatar. Be forewarned that my hunting bow shoots arrows right through those cheap styrofoam targets, even through the side of my shed when it happens to be behind the cheap styrofoam target. And that's with a blunt target point, not a sharp broad point.

I've already closed a couple reported posts as "rejected" -- we've only just begun. :D Let's give everyone a day to vent (excepting profanities and vile descriptions of what you'll do to one another & their mothers) and then settle down to something somewhat more civil.
