Francine probably told them to Google for the last PR for a similar incident and copy/paste it.

And the TSA spokesholes are wrong each and every time they make such a statement.

Human nature is to place things in groups. TSA is in the news week in and week out with some form of newsworthy evil acts.

I'm not a statistician but the number of occurrences seem to be well above the norm for any group of government employees excepting Congress, Justice, and the Administration.

When they have nothing to say the lawyer approved boilerplate comes to the rescue, as if frequent fliers would believe a word of it.

Really? (responding to quoted boilerplate) Can you honestly say that criminal behavior on the part of one TSO doesn't reflect on the others? Sorry, but must burst your bubble - it does reflect poorly on every TSA employee, from the lowest of the low to the person running the agency.

Was there some divine intervention that cause 12,000 to disappear overnight?

Let me guess...12,000 are currently incarcerated?

  9. They also don't acknowledge that even a single screener out of thousands who is charged with a sex crime calls into question the intimate touching that is now integral to their approach to security. We are all less safe if even one perv is given carte blanche to touch any part of strangers' bodies he so desires.

That makes 54 arrests so far this year and 10 for sex crimes, nine of them involving children.

Now is a good time to hound the comments with this news.

    Roses are Red!
    Violets are Blue!
The TSA gets off on children too!

(I know, I know, but the TSA considers nothing off limits.)

If there was another group of federal employees tasked with public safety that continuously violated that trust, I'm sure the TSA apologists would never let us hear the end of it. Heck, even the FAMs have cleaned up their act a bit. It's been what, 18 months since the last one was arrested for rape?

The TSA was copying and pasting their boilerplate statement from a few years ago. :p
