Did you see this guy, Linton Johnson, whose pea-sized brain could not be stopped?? It wasn't enough that he came up with the idea to shut off phone service, he also came up with the idea to hire BART supporters -- like applause cliques at 19th century opera performances:

And he gets paid $170,000 a year!

It appears that Linton Johnson is a grade A idiot.

How do people like that get jobs like this?

The same way kip hawley, pissy, nappy and alot of other idiots get high ranking jobs. It seems like incompetence or being good on your needs is how one gets promoted, to where one can go from being screwed to doing the screwing.

How about not shooting with folks in the background? But thanks for the science lesson from SFPD's Albie Esparza on CBS:

Is the media allowing SFPD to get away with this?

It appears that way. Not in SF, but in the rest of the country. Seems to me this is a huge story, with enormous implications. It's certainly treated that way every time a foreign country behaves like this. Then it's plastered all over the news. But in our noble, virtuous, upstanding, always-right country? Big yawn.

I know I sent it to dozens of people in the media whom I know personally; only one of them indicated any interest. And to his credit, he said if anything similar ever happens in his neck of the woods, he'll be first in line to get arrested.

SF is a high-rent gulag. If there was a robust 4th estate a lot of things might be different. There has been mostly alternative outlet coverage, it seems, and some immediate coverage b/c some major outlet reporters got caught up "in the circle"--if you want to hear and read about the accounts:
The police make the determination of what is a violation of safety. Sound familiar? The description of events is disputed: http://sfappeal.com/news/2011/09/pr...he-fare-gates-thursdays-bart-protest-co-1.php
"police in riot gear...formed a wall to block them from approaching the pay gates."
'The BART protesters never actually blocked any of the fare gates,' she told The Huffington Post. 'The police arrested everyone when there was only shouting.'
DHS/ VIPR are part of this and were present. As one remarked: "How can the DHS possibly justify its presence at so small an action? The purpose of DHS is to protect against terrorism not prevent the free exercise of constitutionally guaranteed political speech." or guess again!
