If we have any participants from the Big Easy or Gulf Coast area hope all goes well during the storm.

We're far enough inland we won't get the worst of it.

The current projection puts us in the middle of it by the weekend.

We were supposed to start getting rain last night. As of this morning: clear skies. It appears to be so slow moving that the rain won't get here until very, very late Thursday/early Friday. The rainy weekend will force me to slow down and take it easy.

If I suddenly disappear, I've either finally been swallowed up by a swamp, or DHS found me.

They put us on stand-by for state and national disaster response teams. I haven't heard anything since and at this point I expect the stand-down email shortly. My 24hr, 72hr and 2 week packs are still in the car but will probably put them back in the hosuse this weekend.

As much as I would like to do a deployment (major $$$ would be helpful to pay for somethings) but want it to be a good one so that I could pull 4-8 weeks of deployment out of it.

Put your name in for Japan's big tsunami. That should pay a few bills.

Well the disaster teams I'm a member of are limited to territorial US for the most part. Now foreign deployments do happen but rare.
