I think most here know that I ride motorcycles, now a trike, because of some physical limitations. I'm not a part of any local clubs and ride alone. I'm even guilty of letting the appearance of other bikers cloud my perception of them. I know guys who are members of the Patriot Guard, in a biker club made up of LEO's from various groups, and some guys that are in more of the fringe type clubs. When I read stories like the one I am about to post I realize that long hair, tattoos, leathers, and bikers vests with full rockers don't really paint the true picture of the biker.

    These guys did good.

A lot of people don't realize how mainstream motorcycle riding has become -- most bums can't afford a Harley.

It's also a world-wide phonomenon. We met a really nice biker (dressed for the part, but actually very friendly & soft-spoken) on a ferry in northern Norway; also watched one morning as 100+ bikes pulled up & parked by the bay in downtown Sydney.

I volunteer for/sometimes work for an organization that does an annual biker poker run fund raiser. All sorts of interesting people show up who, for the most part, in spite of the tats and leather from head to toe, are nice people.

We have had tons of bikers come through GSO, Hells Angels, Vandals, and assorted other groups wearing colors and matching accoutrements, and I have never had a single problem with any of them. While some of them are "bad" dudes, the majority I have had contact with do things just like what is in the link above. They do Bike Runs, Rallies and even racing at local drag strips to raise money for a myriad of good will groups.
