Boston Marathon Bombed

I am encouraged, from the comments in opinion pieces calling for more of a police state in response, that fewer people are lapping up the perpetual fear kool-aid. If the following is any indication, we the people welcome a return to the land of the free and the home of the brave:

What we need to remember about terrorism is that the likely suspects aren't the people we hate or fear, they're the people who are very, very angry. The prosecutors in TX were murdered by someone who believed they had persecuted him and ruined his life.

Chances are good that the people who committed this Boston Marathon Attack are mad at the American people in a general sense or mad at the Boston Marathon organizers. This means the Leftists' favorite suspect is probably not involved. A right wing domestic terrorist would hit a government building or a gaggle of IRS agents. It doesn't make sense for a right wing extremist to lash out at randomly selected fellow citizens or running addicts and their fans. The perpetrator is mad at Americans or mad at marathoners. I'm guessing it's a muslim terrorist who's really, really mad about what's happened in Gitmo. While the Lame Stream Press whas driveling on about Tax Day and what not, the detainee task force was releasing their report. In the week before the bombing news was trickling out about detainees on a hunger strike. In the end, I don't care who committed this crime. The crime is premeditated mass murder. I'm tired of extra garbage like "hate crime," "domestic violence," "police killer," or "terrorist." Murder is the crime. MURDER. The rest is political posturing. Let's try and execute the murderer or murderers, then get on with leading the good life.

All over the news this morning - the bombers were apparently a pair of Chechen brothers, one of whom is dead after being shot by police in a running gun battle...

One in the morgue one on the run or gone to ground. Reported that the dead suspect had some type of body bomb and the acutuator to detonate the device. Thoughts are the suspect on the run may have such a device. I would hope they can take the guy alive so they can find out if this was just two guys acting alone or a network.

 

I'm simply not going to concern myself too much if he's taken alive or not - as long as he doesn't get to take any more with him. Besides... how would taking him alive mean that they'd learn anything more about a "network" or not?

 

I heard on the news this morning that is reported that the suspect still at large is willing to die. I have a sneaking suspicion that is not because he is feeling remorse over the heinous act that he and his cohort committed. He wants to be a remembered as a martyr. Therefore, my instinct would be to capture the mother@#%*er alive and make him suffer suffer for the rest of his natural life. Make darn sure he is cut off from the rest of the world, having no communication with anyone except those charged with keeping his (expletive deleted) imprisoned and making his life a miserable, living (expletive deleted).

 

We don't torture or imprison rabid dogs. We simply end them.

When someone wants to be remembered as a martyr, I think the worst possible punishment for them would be to make sure their name is forgotten entirely. Delete him, promote the heroes of the bombing - the people who ran past the finish line to donate blood, for example, and remember those people.

 

My take on this is that they never expected to survive which is why they didn't make much effort to hide their identities.

 

Trying to find a source, but one comment out of Boston suggests that the surviving brother ran his escape vehicle over the wounded brother while escaping the firefight.

 

And throw in a Jewish defense attorney as a bonus ...

 

Napolitano, Obama, and the anti gun crowd are devastated by this. They were praying the perp was Wayne LaPierre of the NRA.

what I don't care for is they locked down an entire city, home, business, airport, as if it were a prison. they have no authority to do that. over one armed idiot?

so much for the theory of smart-ness. just smart enough to carry out the task. they took no precautions to hide identity and had no exit plan. maybe their suicide vests were their exit plan.

Depending on the reports you read they've been in the U.S. for 10-13 years. One was 19, the other 26, which means that one was 6-9 years old when they came here with their parents, the other 13-16.

It will be interesting to see what the story is after all the hype & FBI bulloop: dies down, but 6-9 year-olds don't arrive as assassins.
