Surely you've seen the caricatures of cops & donuts?

With that many cops in one place, I'd expect Dunkin Donuts to bring in mobile units. I wouldn't be at all surprise if a significant number of the armored vehicles distributed by DHS have been outfitted as mobile donut dispensaries. :D

The sketch that Gabriel Iglesias does about getting pulled over turning out of the donut shop, for example?

(A whelk is a small snail - and stands zero chance in a supernova. I was saying that it was incredibly unlikely that Dunkin would close...)

Another outrageous show of force? Of course I'd expect these people to be questioned, but this really seems over the line. Is anyone who associated recently with either of the Tsarnaev brother going to be similarly terrorized?

Apparently they found nothing of interest when they searched the apartment. To top it off, their apartment was left unlocked after the raid.

UK Daily Mail: 'Terrorista#1': Bragging license plate on BMW belonging to friends of captured Boston bomber who were arrested along with another woman in dramatic raid

The two men arrested last night in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings drive a car with the licence plate that reads: ‘Terrorista #1’
The students, named be neighbours by their first names Azmat and Diaz, drive a black BMW 330XI with the personalised plate and a sticker on the back which reads: ‘F*** you, you f****** f****’.
They are thought to be from Kazakhstan and had not been seen since the bombings until last night when their ground floor apartment in New Bedford, MA, was raided by a dozen FBI agents at gunpoint.
One of their girlfriends was also arrested. All three are in their late teens or early 20s.
Their apartment was raised because police say the younger Boston Marathon bombing suspect, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, may have lived at their address.
MailOnline has discovered another link - Dzhokhar Tweeted pictures of the car on his Twitter account J_tsar.
In one picture the BMW is next to another dark coloured sports car with the caption: ‘Place your bets’ as if they are about to race.

Love the photos in the DailyMail stories.
*They* being the FBI, but not these guys:
    Interesting comment:
Thought #1&#2 looked pretty dapper. #1's hoodie cost $100.
    Did anyone have a job???

All manners of organized crime involved here, perhaps. Much better than any Hollywood movie, if you haven't had your legs blown off.

    (sigh)

And now Glenn Beck is claiming he has proof positive that it was a false flag operation, and that he'll give the Obama administration until Monday to admit to it.

Why not just release it? Because that wouldn't boost his ratings nearly as much as raising a "controversy." Jackass.

not buyin' it. If that were the case and it were a false flag opp, neither of these two would have (a) had to have been hunted down. or (b) left alive. And there'd need to be some immediate action taken that was justified by the op. eg, Germany destroying an outpost, blaming Poland, then invading.

Agree that the chance of this being a false flag op is so remote it'S not worth contemplating. Why let the perp live when he could implicate others? Beck needs to put down the koolaide.

Nor I. But the "wait to release" notion is just stupid. At best, it's a ratings pull. And possibly actionable libel, or even blackmail..

    No death in MA.
We'll see what Carmen Ortiz plans this time:
Seriously, why proceed in this manner? For the precedent?

he most likely will be tried on federal charges, which do carry the death penalty.

looks like they aren't taking the foolish tack from Idiot senator graham. they're using the public safety exception to see if there are any more bombs out there, which is reasonable, IMO. stop there, mirandize him, and go from there. any talk of waterboarding or torture of a frickin' US citizen should stop immediately.

Certainly the latter. Not buyin' was Rush sells generally. There are certainly other persons (like the Saudi) and intel agencies swirling around; what we learn of them is interesting too, even if not materially connected. Like other plot lines that get exposed accidently.

If he is charged under federal laws there is a death penalty. I'm going to bet some kind of terrorism charge with death penalty.

Good. Hope they do as you think reasonable, and not go with a more expansive use of the exception (as I misunderstood them to be).

Great Popehat link, much more humorous overall, but points out:

From my 'droid, link on Drudge: Younger brother reportedly drove over older brother as the cops were cuffing him.

I doubt that it's a false flag, but the reaction of the government is such that it may as well have been one.

  19. Unless he ran over only his legs, that story doesn't match the dead body picture also linked on Drudge. Nothing's crushed or mangled, just bloody. I'm not calling false flag per se, but there's stuff that just doesn't add up with how this story is being fed to us.

The supposed bad guys are either dead or capture and this story will play out for years. I am wondering how this event will be used by DHS to tighten the screws on the police state. Watch for changes, some subtle others not so much.
