It's behavior like this on the part of the authorities that causes the growing disrespect for those authorities. Just like the TSA.

Awful. We're criminalizing childhood, for god's sake.

Needless to say, this isn't allowed to go on at private schools with well-off students.

    Good grief, #5:
What kind of morons run these schools?? And staff the police department?

    I've been asking that for quite a few years now! It's all a by-product of post-Columbine / post-9/11 paranoia.

Are we really this afraid of our own shadows?

The Founding Fathers would be appalled at our collective pansiness. :td:

It's a good thing I'm not of school age or I'd be down for life.

For the "littering" incident at Knight High School in Palmdale, DA, there is a video on YouTube:

If you look at it on YouTube, there is a lot of additional disturbing information in the descriptions and comments:

What's missing in so many of the reports are the names of the police offices who abuse these victims. The bad actors must be named and identified publicly.

    Found it ...

Final Call (14 July 2008): Judge rules against teens in controversial case

Talk about blatantly unconstitutional action by the officers -- we need more people recording their activities and using Qik ( to help preserve the evidence before the police even have a chance to destroy it.

I think we should plug Qik ( in these threads to encourage new readers (most TUG traffic comes from search engines) to take & protect their own videos. Qik ( wasn't available at the time of this incident, but it is now. Any thread involving police officers and/or rent-a-cops (includes TSA "officers") should plug Qik (
