CBS News: TSA screening problem forces evacuation at JFK
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Death by a thousand cuts. How wonderful to see!
Serves people right...they could always choose not to fly...
I bet that cost at least $100K in disruptions. I've been trying to piece together what a terminal dump costs in terms of lost productivity and airline disruption but information seems scarce.
I bet the airlines know and likely aren't real happy about it. The problem is that with free security from TSA they aren't in a position to bite the hand that feeds them.
Don't these expensive metal detectors have blinking lights or something to indicate they aren't working or something is wrong with them? For heaven's sake I've got dashboard lights that blink when something is wrong with my car. We're supposed to believe that the scanners are safe but the TSA nitwits can't even tell when a metal detector isn't working? I'd also like to know just how many passengers who went through the broken metal detector had already taken off on their flight before this was even discovered - and yet, no plane was blown out of the sky. Amazing!
Geniuses "protecting" us at the airport. God help us all.
I'll be amazed if Islamophobes aren't already claiming that this was an inside job or test run for some future mayhem.
Your wish has been granted.
Read the comments on the NY Post piece.
(The piece itself is awesome.)
I'm afraid to. I know what NYPost commenters are like.
Oh, and from that NY Post article:
Of course! The TSA never admits wrongdoing. Same old same old.
And this coward:
Of course, put aside the bigotry for a moment: many TSA opponents have long said that if there is a future attack, it will be an inside job of sorts, and enabled by the TSA's policies.
What procedures are in place to prevent such a scenario where a TSA employee is in on an attack, and does exactly what happened here? That is, intentionally tamper with equipment to allow weapons through.
Given the incidents of TSOs smuggling drugs through, it seems the answer is that there are few such checks in place.
Yes, good point.
The comments seem to be more about whether this guy is a Muslim and less about the fact that he is STUPID!
Why couldn't he be both? I see no reason why being a Muslim would exclude the other speculation regarding his intellegence.
I believe the implication is that the commenters are flying their Islamophobe flag.
Yes, but saying he is a stupid Muslim would be politically incorrect, right?
No, just irrelevant. A stupid person is a stupid person. Doesn't matter what his religion, ideology, ethnic background, race, etc. is.
The NY Post article is simply fabulous ...
Stupid is as stupid does.
Of course TSA will never accept responsbility for its legions of retards:
Two jumbos had to return to gates to offload their passengers for rescreening.
They have 21 layers of security. Even if the first twenty leak like a sieve, the 21st will protect us.
Separate names with a comma.
