Go on over to counter the inevitable TSA apologists and naysayers at Chris Elliott's blog.
There weren't too many of them them this time around.
First time ever at that blog. They're usually out in full force. Maybe we scared them off. Or maybe the diaper thing was finally too much even for them.
This is why I have hope. One simply can't defend the indefensible.
Ergo, we're almost at a tipping point (though I don't think we're there, yet). TSA has proven time and again that they just can't stop harassing and abusing innocent people. Someday soon they will do something this stupid again. Maybe, just maybe that will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
My worry is that they'll back off just far enough, for just long enough, that the furor over Diapergate will die down without TSA having to abandon scope-n-grope or, preferably, be disbanded altogether.
No. The strip search and sex groping and its attendant thought patterns in those carrying it out will simply operate and produce similar results, if not more spectacular ones, given human nature. You cannot fine tune such a programme and mindset. It will tend to move in the same direction. Not until they get rid of it and retrain their personnel out of that mindset. We are going to see more and more of this. More people getting hurt.
Must agree with nachtnebel.
And again given human nature, people will become more conditioned to their abuse. Look at the apologists during this diaper episode -- people all over the country actually saying things like, "well, you never know -- those pesky terrorists could've hidden a bomb in her diaper!" We're dealing with morons here. Complete and utter cowardly, subservient mentalities. "Please kick me, master! I'll do whatever you say. As long as you tell me it's for my own good!"
Things will have to get worse -- a lot worse -- before they get better. Don't forget that hideous quote by Josef Mengele -- I posted it another thread so will re-post here:
"The more we do to you, the less you seem to believe we are doing it."
