It's an election year. This issue is gathering steam. It will cost votes. So you're absolutely right, they're giving Pistole the kiss of Judas, figuratively, although in this case it would be Judas kissing Judas.

    BINGO! (bolding mine)

Plus, you can't have uneducated trolls with NO customer skills doing something that might occasion some instances that need to be treated with the greatest delicacy (excuse me miss, we need to check your crotch). They don't need the human garbage that they have now, who are only capable of extremely offensive behavior, such as yelling out to a 79 year-old woman in front of everyone, asking if she is wearing a sanitary napkin!!!

“We need to get rid of the whole thing altogether. In fact our national security should be upheld by the military and not by an organization such as the Department of Homeland Security. I would like to get rid of the whole department and start all over again and let the military do what it needs to do, and let the CIA and FBI do what they should do to focus on those who want to harm us and stop this inanity of political correctness that is going to get Americans killed.”

I'm with you until I see the words "political correctness." It's almost always code for "search the non-white people and/or the foreigners." :(

I agree though, get rid of not just TSA, but DHS as well. They can't be fixed - the whole scheme needs to be re-thought out. And I agree that the Patriot Act is an abomination. I could imagine TSA going away - just barely, but DHS and the Patriot Act are going to be with us for a very long time. Too many vested interests... :(

It is indeed code. That's the problem. And you know I can't abide political correctness! But when I see it in this context, I know exactly what the person is saying, and it's not what I'm saying.

By the way, o/t, but since it was mentioned earlier in this thread, just had to post -- hilarious:
John Hopkins University to teach ethics to Secret Service agents
(in a 2-day session, no less!)

Booted isn't enough. They need to be tried for crimes against humanity.

Lieberman is a tool. And not a useful one.

Agreed. We need to demand prosecution, not a soft exit to a lucrative consulting gig.

Yeah, well that didn't happen with all the torturers out there, so it ain't gonna happen with this. I mean, John Yoo is a frigging law professor, for god's sake.
