Bruce Fein and Ralph Nader at Harvard Law School, outlining the Constitutional crisis that faces us. Fein opens with a quote by the historian Tacitus, who chronicled the Roman Republic as it degenerated into the Roman Empire:

"The worst crimes were dared by few, willed by more, and tolerated by all.”

I know it's a long video -- 65 mins -- but it's good. Fein and Nader are calling for the impeachment of Obama.

I have mixed feelings about the video..... It's good, and I don't disagree with the idea that Obama can be impeached over certain things he's done during his presidency. I always wondered why Bush wasn't impeached for some of the same things! FISA, for one.

My issue is with the ...... meandering ....... of the speakers, particularly Nader. It really hurts the message, I think. I didn't want to hear about polls, statistics, political opinions, etc. I was hoping to see them focus more on the law and why that's important.

I don't mean to say I was hoping for a dissertation or anything like that, but more about each of the charges they were levying against Bush and Obama. For example - violation of FISA. Tell people what it is, why is it important, and how Bush and Obama violated it.

    Good questions from the audience!

Did you read this book? This is more what I was hoping for.

The Impeachment of George W. Bush: A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens by Elizabeth Holtzman with Cynthia L. Cooper. This book lays out each count - really well done. You can click on the book to look at the table of contents.

I think the fault is mine for mischaracterizing the presentation. It wasn't billed as an impeachment exhortation -- except by FireDogLake and repeated by me. It was billed as a discussion of the violations of the Constitution going on now and how those have put the U.S. on a dark path. Here's what Harvard Law School called it: "Ralph Nader at HLS: The constitutional crimes of Bush and Obama (video)"
