From Amy Alkon's blog: And read what one of the lawyers, consulted after the fact, says -- that it's all okay! Sure, kids can give consent, he says. Besides, there' nothing in California prohibiting it. Oh, well, then if there's no law on the books -- if there's not, in other words, a law For Every Single Thing In Life That Might Possibly Come Up, all bets are off! Hey, what a country.
When I read that story I wondered if the kids knew had been informed of their right to remain silent, and their right to refuse the DNA swab.
They're 12 and 13. They're in a room, one at a time, alone with cops. "Consent" means nothing in that context.
I sure hope these cops and DA get there asses reamed/terminated/disbarred for this. those kids aren't old enough to give consent to anything except for a very few exceptions. General rule of thumb is 18 yes old to give consent (yes some states it's lower). When will they insanity end(rhetorical don't answer that)
I find it interesting that these kids could go to jail for statutory rape if they boink each other, since they can't consent, yet they can consent to this.
no kidding, then again all it will take is one parent to get their feathers ruffled and the HTF, and that PD and its general counsel gonna get there asses handed to them on nail covered silver platter.
I've got a scoped .30-06 and a full unit of fire. Anyone who tries to put me in a re-education camp will become part of my honor guard.
That was the first thing that came to mind. Can get a gerand from CMP for 5-900 in pretty good condition considering the age. That's the next gun on my list.
If I'm using a bayonet I've screwed up somewhere. I'm like that old AT&T jingle: "Reach out, reach out and touch someone..."
Yes and if I can help it I don't like to have a signature that announces Trepanizine is inbound and hot. Beta-mags best thing since sliced bread and Hollywood short mags that are good for 2 mins of full-auto fire like in RED. If im out of Trepanizine and its hand to hand range I normally have enough sharp steel to take care of the job, but god I hope it doesn't ever come to that.
