  2. Wow, I'd never seen her talk. She's pretty impressive! Sounds almost like she's reading your posts, Fisher.

Very comprehensive. She hit a lot of points. She also said get them off our highways, out of our train stations, out of our bus stations. Nothing about the physical assaults, though. Maybe she figures that's too much for people to take in, given that so many are still in denial.

I love this woman. She's given up on trying to get them out of our undies, because the "anything for safety - think of the children" sheeple will accept any indignity in order to feel "safe." Blackburn chants "Safety, safety, safety again and again in her dialog. She's got a winning strategy that reverses the "anything for safety" argument and makes it work for us.

I've always believed that adherence to the Bill of Rights makes the United States a safer place. It's not security OR liberty. Liberty is security. Sheeple will always experience freedom as frightening, much as an kenophobic would panic if placed on a mesa. We need to find a treatment for their generalized anxiety that doesn't endanger our U.S. Constitution.

Agreed - I love that she co-opted AFS and put it to work for us. I thought, though, that STRIP had already been defeated (thanks in part to my (expletive deleted) rep Jan Schakowsky), but looking it up I'm seeing that it actually hasn't been voted on yet. Might be thinking of something else - an amendment or some such.

According to this site the bill hasn't yet been reported. Looked at homeland.house.gov to see if I could find anything on it but not having much luck - the status just says "referred." Anyone know when this is scheduled to be voted on, and how to find this stuff out in the future? (Sorry, still a political n00b trying to map the labyrinth of legislation.)

It has already been voted on and it has been defeated. Unless it's been brought up again in a slightly different form.

Interesting. In the video, Blackburn talks about it in the present tense. She must be planning on reintroducing it - hope it fares much better this time.
