Since this is Texas, she might have a good chance of getting off light.

I recall an incident years ago while in Houston where an elderly woman was beaten and mugged in a strip mall. A local cowboy took a rifle out of his truck and shot the escaping robber dead. Public opinion was so overwhelmingly in support of the shooter that the DA refused to bring charges.

Did you read about my hero, Jim Horn, I think is his name. He shot a couple of theives that had broken into his neighbor's house. The grand jury no-billed him...YEAAAA!!! Lesson to be learned by all would-be burglers: When an armed Texas homeowner catches you with a sack of loot crawling out of his neighbor's window and tells you not to move, you'd better not start to walk toward him!! A detective who had been called to the scene saw the shooting and testified on behalf of Horn.

Honestly, I don't feel too badly for the woman. Yes, it's possible to accidentally let your license expire, and yes, it's possible to forget you have a firearm on you, but it sounds to me like she just wasn't being careful, and when you have a firearm, care is required.

Yup TSA does anything that's going to come back and bite them in the (expletive deleted), big time. Alvin isn't the only Smurf (one other but cant remember the idiots name ) that's brought a gun to work/checkpoint.
