At least 14 members of Congress have requested an answer from Napolitano on why she needs this much ammo, but so far, DHS has refused to answer.

that should send up red flags everywhere.

Red flags, they better start looking for a bunker to crawl into. Obama might just have his sights set on changing the country into another whole form of government.

DHS has let contracts for up to 1.6 billion rounds of ammo, many of which are illegal for use in a war zone. Police departments can't buy needed ammo nor can people like me who shoot for fun. Something is going on and the something is being kept a secret even from congress. That's not how this country is suppose to work. Nappy is bad juju.

Sounds like congress just needs to suspend funding, and cancel all contracts for DHS till nappy replies. That or just try her for treason right now and clear the department from the head down to the lard asses in TSA.

Two key points today from InfoWars:

    1. You don't save money by training with hollow points.
    2. They don't train with hollow points.

InfoWars: Government Cover-up of Ammo Buys Implodes

As we have tirelessly noted, however, hollow point bullets are completely unsuitable for training purposes because they cost significantly more money compared to standard firing range bullets. In one fell swoop, this fact debunks claims that the agency was attempting to save money argument and is intending to use the ammo in training exercises.

Military veterans and ammunition experts have also confirmed that they have never used hollow points for training purposes, expressing confusion at why the DHS is buying up so many of them.

Why do I not trust any DHS mouth piece as things dont add up nor smell right. Especially with the ongoing "gun control" debate and DHS purchase of 7,000 full auto "Personal Defense Weapons" but Feinstein and her ilk going after semi-auto "assault rifles"

Seems DHS is continuing to buy ammo. When does it stop?

After they've killed all of us constitutional ingrates.

In about 50 years there will be a Homeland Security museum in D.C. (sister-museum to the Stasi Museum in Berlin), with displays honoring resistors such as Info Wars, EPIC, Travel Underground, ...

Congressman LaMalfa of california made a good point. He's inquired of DHS whether they are using these massive purchases to control availability of ammo to citizens. The point is, ammo makers sign contracts with the gov and those contracts specify the gov gets served first.

what happens is that by making regular smaller purchases with the option to demand more at any time, DHS forces ammo makers to keep sufficient stocks in reserve, off market, which impacts supply to everyone else.

That this is indeed happening, and is the goal of their large order, is most likely what is occurring. DHS can claim that they haven't bought 1.6 billion rounds because they haven't. They are just using the purchase authority in dribs and drabs to suck up manufacturing capacity by requiring more ammo than necessary to be reserved.

I think LaMalfa is probably right. Would that possibly be a violation of some Interstate Commerce Act? Oh, wait. Probably only if a business were doing it, not the gubberment. :(

I suspect why theres been a ammo shortage for a while (about spring last year it started) and DHS i suspect is causing alot of this . There is a glimmer of "normalcy" as seeing ammo in qty in 357mag, 380, 9mm, and 45 in pistol and .223, .308 and 7.62x39 in rifle as well as primers, powder and projectiles again. Most of the ammo is still steel case but seeing more and more brass case available, however if you shoot 40S&W lots of luck as I have not seen any ammo or components in months.

The local Bass Pro Shop got a pallet of 500rd boxes of .40 S&W FMJ last Saturday. I thought the poor stocker was going to die in the middle of the mob.

That does not surprise me at all. At the Cabela(s) in my area people just pounce on the pallet and help the employees unpack the pallet.

Working nights I make the rounds around60-90 prior to closing time which is when they start stocking so Im able to get what I need if its on the truck.

There are no foreign enemies who would benefit from knowing the details of the DHS purchase. There are no repercussions in the financial system from the details of this DHS purchase.

There is only the political cost from the people in knowing the reasons. This is precisely why DHS is not allowed to hide here, as the people have a right to this information.
