petition signed. This police state crap is beyond old already.

All i have to say is if I see these drones flying around me, they will quickly be offline. Since discharging a firearm is not kosher in my jurisdiction; will resort either to a Olympic class air rifle or similar, maybe even a silenced 22.

Just saw this -- a police drone crashes into a police car! Funny, but not really... Good illustration for why we might not want these things hovering above us.

    Police Drone Crashes into Police

The Montgomery County (Texas) Sheriff's Office had a big day planned. After becoming the first department in the country with its own aerial drone ($300,000!), they were ready for a nice photo op. And then the drone crashed into a SWAT team.

Too bad it didn't do any significant damage to the BearCat.

At this stage of the game I suspect the are no minimum qualifications for piloting drones, they just have to stay in line of sight per current FAA regs.

Problem is, they're acquiring them for the express purpose of flying over us & our property, where as normal RC enthusiasts usually seek out open spaces where there's nothing to damage.

I wish the FAA would clamp down and make it so that operators have to have a pilots license... but knowing government incompetance they just make a exception for military/LE.

Just means more arieal target practice, and potential for a plane to crash due to one of these flying consitution violations. Which if/when it happens is going to open up massive liability for the operator/department that operated the drone and start a whole other massive slippery slope.

After you give Pike the Pig his due, his chums can send a Grim Reaper to follow up with you.

Here's one that's pointless and, er, insane. It's a rural area on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. You know, horses and hay and stuff:
Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff
