    Hi everyone!

I've never been a fan of of the TSA from the beginning, and have been vocal about it, but my last experience was nothing short of horrifying. I posted about that experience on FT, and actually got a PM from a TSO saying, "I'm not threatening you, but...." So I'm here.

I have to travel 12-24 times a year for work (worldwide) so I've not been able to stop flying yet, as much as I'd love to. Getting groped last week in places only my husband has touched was the last straw for me, and I lost any respect I ever had for the TSA as human beings.

Anyway, it saddens me to see Americans give up their rights for "security" that isn't even that.

    Welcome to TUG!

We quit flying after my wife was groped on Nov. 1, 2010. I ended up cancelling all our pending Southwest itins & giving away the vouchers & award trips. We made one more trip (DO in Athens in Dec 2010 for which I was the chief instigator & couldn't weasel out of w/o leaving my friends in the lurch, but since our return on 27 Dec 2010 we haven't been on a plane or through a TSA checkpoint.

We had both maintained Platinum status for years first on NW, later on CO, with each of us flying up to 150K miles annually, counting award trips. Our annual mileage is now zero.

I have a vague recollection of that other site you mention. The last straw for me was when they put Blogdad Bob up on a pedestal and said when we couldn't criticize TSA's chief propagandist because he was a member in good standing. When I protested that & other abusive behavior by their mods, I was told that it's "never cool to call out a mod". (Can't find that middle-finger icon :( ). You won't find any of that bull:poop: here!

    Welcome to TUG, TXFlyer!

Regarding that PM, if you still have it, hang onto it. Go so far as to copy it to an offline text file just in case - we've had cases of this in the past where transcripts of such threats have been sent to TSA OIG. It's always a good idea to report such conduct - if TSA claims to "hold its pedosmu-- I mean 'officers' -- to the highest professional standards" then they need to have every last instance of misconduct thrown right back in their faces. Just make sure you save a copy somewhere else than the site on which you received it - things can disappear from the Internet as a result of "outside influence," so making a backup is always a good idea.

Once again, welcome aboard, and we hope you decide to stay!

I would love to stop flying, but I'm not willing to quit my job, for reasons I don't want to go into here. Since I can't do that, my goal now is to make their lives as unpleasant as possible without getting arrested. I was pretty good at it for the first few years of this garbage, but lost the desire - now it's back big time.

This is obnoxious. "I'm not threatening you, but . . . ." WTF was that supposed to mean?? I hope you told him/her to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Welcome to TUG. You'll find kindred spirits here, and no sheeple allowed.

TXFlyer - name and shame. Would you mind posting that PM that government employee sent you as that is BS. Depending on the rest of the verbiage could be considered making terroristic threats or assault depending on the jurisdiction.

The TSA has a "creed" that includes this paragraph:

You need to report whatever this TSO wrote to the DHS OIG at:

Would you tell us who sent the PM? I would dearly like to read that note.

TSA oaths, creeds, and other written pledges are nothing more than unassociated letters with no meaning.
Take the 1st amendment violations committed by Bob Burns, TSA's chief liar.
There is no honor among those who draw a TSA paycheck.

You have no responsibility to keep the PM private, so please share --- with the DHS IG, the U.S. Attorney for the district if a physical threat was made or implied, and, if you please, with us. Some here have back door ways to address the problem.

There was no physical threat, just the threat that I'd be arrested if I insisted leaving the checkpoint again before screening was finished. Do I take it seriously? Not really. But it was highly inappropriate and unprofessional, under the guise of advice. Not that I expected anything less, but still.

I'd say a threat of arrest constitutes a physical threat.

someone like this, if really a TSA employee, should be fired. They cannot cite under which statute you would be arrested. Sorry, but Aukai is not a statute.

Actually that's incorrect. Publishing the PM is a violation of the TOS of that emininently forgettable "other site". Many people have been suspended there over the years for publishing PM's.

Moreover, the bozo who sent it to her retains the copyright on it.

Personally, I don't care if she posts it here. I'll just wait for the DMCA take-down notice that will never arrive.

Ah, but the TOS is a two-way street, and since the moderators and operator don't follow their own rules, there is little hesitation on my part not to follow them as well. What can they do, kick you out of a place you don't want to be?

I'll defer to you on the copyright issue, as you have vastly greater knowledge and experience. I would ask if a single quote would be "fair use"?

Doesn't the FT TOS only apply to what happens on FT?

If it' a PM within that "other place", they can do as they see fit. Your option when you are suspended for publishing that PM is to sue them, and I'd place your odds of losing that suit somewhere over 90%.

I doubt many here will be concerned with actions taken by the "other Place".

This has Ron-Bo written all over it...just my WAG (Wild-Assed Guess), of course!

Not Ron - he was at least man enough to post his comments in public, as disgusting as they were. The PM was from a TSO from San Antonio.
