TSA is so desperate to find that one terrorist that they don't give a damn how much it costs or how effective it is.

Duh, TSA doesn't even consider whether it is a viable, functional product to start with, let alone whether it holds up to a cost-benefit analysis of its intended usage.

Time after time the TSA has spent millions on junk science toys, and now this nonsensical "SPOT/BDO" Voodoo. "Risk management analysis" sounds cold hearted when the issue is security, but it's just common sense. Most people don't pitch salt over their shoulder every time they spill a little, because they know such behavior is superstitious nonsense. Similarly, security isn't improved by spending millions on silly toys and superstitious drivel. That's called waste, fraud and abuse. As far as I'm concerned, security theater is waste, fraud and abuse. Before a product or tactic is proved effective, spending millions of our tax dollars on it is larcenous.

I see something and I'm saying something. I want those silly overpriced toys sent back to their manufacturers. I want the Airlines and the Airports to take over security. I'll spend my travel dollars with whichever ones demonstrate the greatest proficiency.

And I'd like every last one of the blue-shirted clowns and thugs and their so-called management held accountable for the abuses they've deliberately inflicted on the public in the name of security theatre.
