Hmmm. He seemed to be quite concerned with making sure the rich stayed rich. On the other hand, he did denounce the slave trade.

Show me a man (or woman) who agrees with your every prejudice, and I'll show you a fictional character.

Is it my imagination or is this incident being totally hushed up?

Well, it's gotten quite a lot of news coverage. So I don't think it's being hushed up. It's just been taken over in the public imagination (understandably) by the lunacy of the cupcake episode.

Mike has coined a new term for TSA seizures.

example: TSA cupcaked my bottle of water.

Several years ago I had an interesting conversation about gun control and one part was very well articulated to me regarding the proposition to collect all firearms from the populace:
(I do no justice in this paraphasing, sorry)

The crooks and criminals will find a way to arm themselves so taking the firearms from the 'good' citizens while the bad guys have them is tipping the scale. Plus if ordinary citizen understand proper firearm safety, they are in a better position to understand, not fear. Also they won't be shaking in their boots when faced with a criminal (If you can see that the safety is still engaged...)

Most people I know who have licenses and shop owners I'm friends with have never needed to fire a shot, just the presence and offered the criminal a chance to retreat, they did.

And lastly when I was a young child, my uncle experienced a break in at his home. He quietly got his UNLOADED hunting rifle and aimed it right at the guy head as the guy was climbing in the window. Guy didn't know it was unloaded but he sure retreated and ran away-no one was hurt. Except the broken window and cut screen.

In a perfect world no one world need to be armed. Sadly our world is heading in the opposite direction.

I take precautions against getting sick. Why shouldn't I take precautions against being robbed?

    Better armed than sorry.

And as far as tanks or aircraft are concerned, crews have to come out and take a dump sometime...

    Exactly

I firmly believe in the second amendment and not only do I shoot for sport/competition but for personal defense against all threats.

God may have created man, but Sam Colt made them equal!

More likely the military convinced DHS that they would take care of the issue. As it stood he could have been charged in both the civil and military legal system.

Doesn't sound to me like the Military is too keen on pursuing the matter either.

So what was the result of the investigation into the source of the C-4?

    Oh right.

Agree, to many questions for both the military and DHS. For TSA explaining how 2 to 5 pounds of C4 was missed at the first airport. For the military explaining how that much C-4 went unaccounted for. Just to many problems for the brass of each agency to account for in an open court. My bet is office hours and a slap on the wrist and let it all die quietly.

And yet they'll have people like Yukari Miyamae, Andrea Abbott, Phil Mocek, and Aaron Tobey arrested for attempting to protect their own dignity.

This circus has gone on long enough. Will someone please, please, please for the love of all that's holy shut.it.down.

Don't forget the army colonel (physician) arrested for reciting the 4th amendment.
