    "Brief evactuation"?

From what's currently at your link (updated about two hours after your post), hundreds of passengers spent two hours outside:

And they really don't know who dunnit, or what ...

I'll bet TSA scattered just like the pax rats.

Airlines need to start hitting TSA with lawsuits every time flights are delayed due to a scare. Then again, airlines are complicit in this mess, so the situation looks pretty bleak on this end.

The airlines deserve everything they're getting. Just like the naysayers and apologists.

That used to be my base airport when I worked in Ft Lauderdale. The curbside area isn't very big so putting 200 folks, many with carry-on, outside along with the new arrivals for over two hours would have made things very crowded.

I wonder if anyone of them took video and if it will show up on You Tube?

The core issue, other than the intelligence of TSA Screeners, is why does TSA insist on throwing items to dangerous to enter the so-called sterile area in common trash?

Tossing these "to dangerous to fly" items in common trash bins at the checkpoint is another clear demonstration of the total lack of security that TSA provides.
