    Rare good news:

NY Daily News: Fullerton police officers to stand trial in death of homeless man

Kelly Thomas died five days after the incident, which was caught on camera

If you all didn't see the picture of him after the police beat the ever-loving (expletive deleted) out of him, well, I won't post it here. I take seriously people's claims that they don't want certain images in their heads. You can find it easily enough on-line. Fair warning that it's horrific.

My money is on a show trial with eventual acquittal. No way they mete out justice to a cop.

With so many cops acquitted of horrendous crimes, it makes one wonder if jurors are actually afraid to find a cop guilty.

The Kelly Thomas beating just doesn't go away. Once you've heard that tape it plays over and over again in your mind. His picture after the beating stays fresh as well. "Dad, Dad..." It's sickening.

I feel agony for family members who hear and see videos of their deceased loved ones pleading for their lives during police beat downs. I cannot fathom why no police officers have been tracked down and shot as a consequence of these horrific attacks. Police claim their brutal and thuggish attitude stems from how awful the rest of us are. If we were as awful as police claim we are, we'd have shot every single one of them by now, regardless of their personal records.

We're a nation of very cooperative, gentle, long-suffering people. God help the police state if we ever do snap.

the police will melt away overnight if that happens. If you watched the disintegration of the eastern bloc, the police at the riots and demonstrations shed their uniforms on the spot and fled. No excuse for beating anyone like this. It's like they are waiting for any excuse to do it. anyone who participates in stuff like this should have been fired immediately. they're all high fiving each other in the station.
