I'm using IE9. For some reason I do not see embedded videos in members postings. I do see the videos at the end of major threads.

I have checked with Chrome and videos are viewable.

I'm sure that it is a setting I have dialed up but have no idea even where to start looking.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate your help.

    Check your JavaScript settings.

I have checked, enabled, or set to prompt everything JavaScript. Also downloaded latest version along with a new install of IE 9. Still not seeing the videos. The thread posted today with the guy making threats is a good example. I see each video header but nothing between the text.

I realize I'm being a pain but any suggestions would be appreciated. I have exhausted what little skills I have.

A you using a ad blocker? Is there an equivalent of NoScript that runs with IE?

I see all the videos on IE 8.0 (standard browser for our corporate PC's at work).

I have found the source of the problem. With compatibility view turned off I do not see the videos. I turn it on and there they are, however with it on the TUG homepage displays incorrectly, something I mentioned a few days ago. I did not tie the IE Compatibility View function with the display problem. Maybe it's time to switch to Apple.

Or at least grab copies of Firefox or Opera -- both much better browsers. I you like the way tabbed browsing works in IE, you'll probably prefer FireFox. Opera actually seems to be a better/faster browser but handles multiple tabs differently than I expect.

I have Firefox and Chrome installed. What confuses me is why the homepage of TUG displays incorrectly for me with compatibility view turned on but all the other pages seem to display correctly with it on.

Mike, using a different computer that has IE8 installed. I have no issues with this setup.

Seems to me that IE9 may not work as well on some installations for visiting TUG. Could be my other computer or something in the IE9 setup on that machine.
