What was this principal thinking? She's the one who needs to be suspended, fired actually.

Agree. This is getting into lawsuit territory very quickly.

Sounds like the principal is a bully. It's been my observation that teachers and principals with bullying tendancies tend to exacerbate existing bullying problems among students. They don't know how to recognize bullying behavior or how to intervene effectively.

Still no word on any action taken against the principal, however.

I don't think the principal performed any independent research before she hammered the student. A histrionic parent came storming into her office with some incomplete screen shots of the teen's video which didn't contain the conspicuous disclaimer. The principal got caught up in the highly excitable parent's trauma-drama. It happens.

Hopefully next time she'll engage her brain before she takes action against a student. I doubt the principal has enjoyed the harsh glare of the spotlight this week.

You don't think this is enough to have the principal disciplined:

That said, the principal is a woman and Ms. Barba is referring to a male, perhaps an assistant principal. Either way, they both need to be disciplined.

I'm sure everyone involved in this asinine decision got a butt chewing from the school board. They're on notice now.
