House to advance spending bills that cut TSA, boost veterans programs

    Battle of the budgets. My guess is this one has a better chance of getting through than the Senate version adding funds.

    I don't get the senate bill. Don't all spending bills have to originate in the house?

    I haven't observed anyone in any branch of government pay attention to any section in, or amendment to, the Constitution since 8:47 AM EDT on September 11, 2001.

    Yes. The House has the purse strings whether the Senate likes it or not. Most likely the Senate "budget" is an amendment to one of the House versions that has never made it through.
