Taking a page from the creativity of the We Are the 99% website, the thousands of people who've been bullied, harassed, sexually assaulted, or otherwise abused by the TSA could post their pix on-line with a short handwritten note, as these people have done. As you can see, they don't have to reveal their full identities, they don't even have to reveal their faces if they don't want to.

Of course the naysayers will claim that anyone can just fake it. But they claim that anyway about the accounts of abuse, so who cares.

I think we have to stop depending on the mainstream media -- again, as the 99ers have done. They are creating their own media. That's what TUG is -- an organic, independent media entity that depends on citizen journalists to get the story out there. These pictures and statements are pretty powerful. We could compile ones that are just as powerful.

Those stories are shocking (though not surprising).

I think that's the whole idea behind the master list. Maybe we can do something a little more visible. I like it.

Get a new web designer, seriously -- the blank font on purple background is all but impossible to read. I won't say it's my all-time worst visual experience on the internet, but it ranks up there.

    Good idea.
Some of us have fodder for both sites.:td:

Ha, ha! Mike, I know what you mean. But we're all volunteers, and most of us have full-time jobs (I know you do, too), and it's been hard just keeping our heads above water.

I just realized I linked to the Oct2011 website instead of the original "We are the 99%" website. On my screen, there's a huge white space as background on most of the page, and the typeface on it is normal black-on-white. Anyway, the original might be easier on the eyes, though personally I can't stand dark backgrounds.

Excellent idea! The number of TSA victims continues to mount and no one seems happy about this charade but TSA.

In a few weeks it will be a year since these abuses began full stride and there is no sign that the outrage is diminishing, if anything opposition has grown.

Still there are a few self proclaimed "seasoned" travelers, who think that flying once a year makes them experts and don't think there is a problem. I almost chuckle when I read comments that refer to their experience being searched with a handheld wand, which would be funny except that they are offering opinions without having the current information.

Any mechanism that helps educate people about the extent of these abuses would be a welcome addition.

Wands? Haven't seen those in ages. IMHO they were mostly used for back scratchers. Must not be as much of a frequent flier as they are.

I don't chuckle. This is one of the most annoying things to me - seeing self proclaimed "seasoned" travelers retort on blogs with information that hasn't been correct for a year or two or three or four. Then they become outraged when their kids snow globe gets confiscated, or they get groped after going through the NoS, or they get their hair played with by the clerk, or their drink that they bought in the post-checkpoint store must be "tested", or get their bags re-searched at the gate or......

It's great when they finally wake up, but nevertheless it is still annoying that they have chosen to hit the snooze button for so long.

I chuckle precisely because these are the people who get the post NoS grope, the gate test, ad nauseum, after lecturing us on how we should just "get over ourselves".

I just wish they'd come back and update us on their education...
