The police won't stop people who are talking on cell phones, but they are going to issue summonses for dogs that aren't in doggie seatbelts!!!!!!!!

I'm going to start a Doober's Dogs' Defense Fund 'cause if they are serious about this, I'm gonna need it.

In reality, it's the NJSPCA armed thugs are given the authority to stop and cite any drivers, with fines issuing to the NJSPCA. It is unclear if local and state police will be "participating" in making such stops.

Seat belts for dogs in cars? What if they're under a certain weight -- do they have to be in car seats? (that was sarcasm). ;)

I think California has had a law for quite some time that dogs have to be restrained if they're in the back of a pick-up, but nothing like seat belts in cars.

    This is Joisey.

The problem of fat dogs will be Bloomberg's next crusade on the other side of the river.
