KBZK (Bozeman, MT): TSA Equipment failure causes headaches for passengers at Gallatin Field
Troubling that their enplanements are up though. I'd prefer to see the numbers declining. Apparently too many folks don't know or don't care about the problems related to TSA.
And miss summer at the ranch?
It's somewhat unclear if this was the baggage x-ray or the nude-o-scope.. Any indication?
From another article I take it that it was the x-ray belt.
I have often wondered about the health risks associated with these, primarily for the screeners. These have been in use for a decade and there are probably some former private security/TSA screeners that have been exposed to these for many years. Given the casual attitude they have toward them; leaning against the housing, reaching inside the scan area and generally goofing around, there may be enough hours of exposure by enough people to be statistically representative.
My suspicion is that there are more than a few cancer victims among this group that haven't made the connection to their illness and the x-ray belt. Many may have left TSA over the years and have already forgotten about their time spent standing next to these devices.
