KMAS: TSA Lets Loaded Guns Past Security, on to Planes

Someone else is adding 1 & 1 and getting 2 ... That's twice in a two-day period that TSA allowed passengers to board airplanes with loaded guns. What do you expect when you have an army of two-digit IQ's with GED's looking for drugs & stuff to steal?

KMAS: TSA Lets Loaded Guns Past Security, on to Planes

After reports of two loaded guns making it past airport screeners and on to passenger flights this week, one congressman says "hundreds" of prohibited items get past screeners every day, a situation he calls "intolerable."

In one of the incidents last week, Transportation Security Administration screeners allowed a New Orleans Hornets executive to board a plane from New Orleans to Newark, N.J., with a loaded handgun in his baggage.

    ...

Just one day earlier in Orlando, TSA officers missed another loaded gun. This time, a firefighter had mistakenly left the gun in her purse and carried it right through security screening and on to her plane. The firefighter realized on her own what had happened and alerted authorities.

I don't think the loaded guns and other contraband are a problem. The people who bring these weapons and contraband onto the airplanes with them never seem to commit any crimes with these items, nor do they endanger anyone's safety.

The only people committing crimes and endangering public safety are the DHS loons, with the TSA thugs being the most ostensibly obnoxious malefactors.

The scawy objects the TSA focuses on are merely tools, and the scawy people the DHS focuses on are merely those who find the DHS objectionable due to the agency's human and Constitutional rights violations.

Eliminate the DHS and 99% of our supposed terrorism problem disappears over night.

There are a few real terrorists out there, but the best way to counter their activities is through real police work, not pumping goon squads and azz clowns up on illegitimate authority and turning them loose to abuse their fellow man.

And, it should be noted, if that policework fails and some element of that remaining 1% of the terrorist problem manages to make its way onto an airplane, it's going to get dogpiled on and pounded into a fine red mist by the savage, bloodthirsty, enraged and otherwise WHARRRGARBL-ing passengers who aren't going to go down without a fight.

As Schneier said, the problems that allowed for 9/11 were solved on 9/11.

I disagree with regard to weapons, especially handguns The current outcome is just luck. Gang members & drug dealers could get them on board the same way. (Or for Plan B: Watch Jon's video & line up for a virtual scrip search.)

Secondary weapons like knives & stun guns are basically useless unless you can get the cockpit to open the door and succeed in storming past the passengers who today will probably block your path & take you down.

Drugs (often illegal) and cash (almost always legal) are virtually never a problem for the duration of a flight.

TSA is failing at the basics while wasting time & money on other stuff.

Bingo -- hardened cockpit doors & an end to the doctrine of surrender & comply. But still a reasonable effort to block weapons & explosives is prudent.

    I agree 100% with Mike's post.

TSA needs to screen for WEI only and stop every other function they are currently wasting manhours on.

If they wanted to do this, they would. Either they aren't doing it, or they are doing it and it's not causing trouble for the rest of us. Either way, it's no big deal.

Yes, gang members and drug dealers shoot people. I'd be more upset about this, but usually they shoot thieves trying to rob them, other gang members and other drug dealers. I don't get upset until they harm innocent bystanders.
