we know we're doing it in a dumbass way,
but we're not gonna to change cuz, hey man, 'rules are rules'
and so what if doesn't work-tough cookies.

We're talking about items that have been bouncing around in luggage/carry-on, correct?

Take tour of an automatic baggage handling system sometime -- things don't just get bounced around IN the luggage. The luggage itself goes flying through the air, by design, and often ends up tumbling down chutes.

A typical system consists of one or two belts that circle continuously and fairly quickly. Each piece of luggage sits on a tray. The belts do not stop to make deliveries, rather the trays tip at just the right moment to send the luggage down a chute.

You will never again pack anything fragile or liquid after such a tour, I promise!

If only this passenger would have considered how a tube of toothpaste might have looked on an x-ray machine, this whole situation could have been avoided. Stupid passengers are always making the TSA's job so hard.

I wonder if this passenger will be cited for his artful concealment of dental hygienics?

Well, I'm sure now that we've pointed out a few things in this case, Rugape will dutifully "forward the concerns up the chain" into the usual place where all logical points end up: the waste basket.

Or claim to do so, anyway. We all know what the given word of a TSA "employee" is worth.

    Brush with terror:
    Toothpaste cleans out JFK terminal
Times of Israel one of the international media having a laugh (at your expense).
