Here is a well-written piece by the Columbia University Human Rights Law review, A Jailhouse Lawyer's Manual, Chapter 25, Your Right to Be Free from Illegal Searches. Now, I realize that we are not prisoners ... yet. But this manual is rather balanced and realistic, and may contain some surprises for folks who have assumed, for example, that women passengers could not be lawfully groped by male TSOs at the checkpoint under any circumstances.
