I strongly agree with the highlighted statement. I can't honestly equate the two. On the other hand, the cop who solicits an act of prostitution while on duty seems to be universally condemned, even while the rationale for condemnation varies. I must say that any police officer who requests that a citizen break the law puts that citizen in a very vulnerable position. Can the citizen afford to risk denying the cop? The officer's position of authority removes the possibility of mutual consent from the interaction.
