I think the TSA is blowing smoke (again). If I were her my response would be "Bring it, you BST's"!!!

I contributed 200 bucks to her legal defense fund. I believe lots of other people contributed, too (I hope, anyway). If this insane fine goes through, she'll need more help.

She still won't learn her lesson. Idiots are stubborn that way.

Yeah, defending oneself from assault is so idiotic.

She broke the law. Period. I have no sympathy for her. In my opinion, she got off easy. She's an idiot who took the law into her own hands.

The sad truth is that she'd have a better case if she had punched the blue-shirted bastard in the throat instead.

The results certainly would have been better.

I would encourage Bart to take his lies and Orwellian statements elsewhere, but I do so enjoy watching him in action. Where else can you get such an authentic display of the banality of evil?

At least the threat by the TSA tells us that intimidation and "swarming" are indeed TSA policy and procedure. If they weren't, they wouldn't be threatening to fine her for engaging in self-defense when surrounded by a bunch of blue-shirted thugs intent on assault.

Like everytime a smurf grabs/touches/"pats down" a travelers gentials, breasts, etc even though you claim those arent supposed to be touched yet many raports of genital chops including reports of travelers being put in pain from the chops? Using your logic then there should be massive amounts of aggrivated sexual battery, assault, kidnapping and coercion charges being filed and smurfs getting perp walked.

Personally im waiting for a smurf to commit battery (assault and terroristic threats are nearly everytime) me because at that point its game on and the smurf will be on the loosing end (physically and legally), just how much depends on them.

    What law did she violate?

I was under the impression that Congress made laws, signed by the President, not TSA.

Is it your claim that TSA procedures carry the weight of law? Who enacted this so-called law?

DA didn't charge her, yet you are willing to convict?

Suggest the movie Brazil, made 26 years ago, predicted much of this.

Yes, next time use the night stick or the Taser as a teaching aid.

Excellent point as to why TSA screeners should not be armed with any weapon even if they coould keep up with them.

I've always felt that Bart is an especially important example for us, since he trains others and would have you believe that he leads by example. These moments when he shows what he's really thinking are precious insights.

Agreed. Some of the online posters on various websites who identify themselves as TSA do a lot to sway public opinion. I know that my opinion changed in part due to what I read from various TSOs online.

And I value the input from those who do seem to want to engage in honest dialogue. I know that we have at least one such member here.

Yet again this poster reveals his true self and, in doing so, gives us insight into the mind of a screener - and it's not pretty.

I just speak for myself and no one else. Slapping a TSO who is officially performing her job is against the law. And the law went easy on Miyamae in terms of criminal prosecution. But the sweet justice of it is that she is still liable for punitive fines, and I hope they throw the whole bookcase at her. If you find that "not pretty," that's your problem.
