According The Tennessean, TSA will "evaluate' the scanners for safety once again. Any bets on how "new" and "independent" the evaluation will be?

They keep focusing on the "equivalent to 3 minutes of exposure at cruising altitude" bull :trash: without regard to the potential exposure of those working around the machines all the time. The machines need to be evaluated from point of view of both passengers and employees. At this point they could have a couple years of valuable data from dosimeters, but they won't allow them to be worn.

One Senator does seem to get it:

This is the third time he has trotted out this same line of BS. Remember the Smith-Bindman "study"? They gave that hack researcher their "data" and she regurgitated their conclusions and claimed it was an unbiased scientific analysis. A complete prostitution of her academic credibility.

John Whitehead had a scathing indictment of the scanners at Rutherford today.
