MSNBC: Airline worker charged with thefts in Dallas: Man allegedly took women's jewelry and sunglasses from fliers' bags

When he gets out of jail, he should check his pizza boxes for employment opportunities.

Saw this story in our local news. What it tells me is that TSA has not taken steps to secure baggage after it has been screened and any person with access can introduce contraband to any airplane at any time.

I tried making exactly this comment online, but can't seem to post to MSNBC or WashingtonPost any longer.

    So, you are saying:
    1. If someone can steal something from a bag then ...
    2. Someone put something in a bag, then ...
    3. The entire bag check system is a complete joke, unless ...
    4. We place complete trust that no one handing baggage will ever be a terrorist.

    5. Trust placed knowing TSA overrides the credentialing process for persons with criminal background, and...
    6. TSA provides further access to baggage through its staff, and...
    7. TSA has a substantial record of theft by its staff, which could as easily be placement in a bag, and...
    8. TSA solicits workers through pizza box and gas station ads.
