Why are the police siding with the TSA? Is this a trend? They did the same with Andrea Abbott, where the police thuggery was on a par with the smurf thuggery. And who knows how many other instances that we never hear about? Even if were "irate," he had a right to be. Anybody who isn't "irate" in that situation is either lying, comatose, or a Zen monk.

And here we have the beautiful lack of accountability:

That was the vortex into which Andrea Abbott was swept.

One of Nashville Airport's finest ("Scott", I believe) used to post in the "other place". He was hardly the brightest bulb on the planet.

Rand Paul stated he was "detained" by the TSA . "I tried to leave the cubicle to speak to one of the TSA people and I was barked at: ‘Do not leave the cubicle!’" Has anyone seen that part of the video?

This is a short excerpt that the airport/TSA presumably thought best supported their case. No doubt the full encounter exists on video, or did, since the whole area is under constant video surveillance.

It may come out later, particularly if his office demands a copy. Either way, there is no audio so other than the gestures it's his word against theirs as to what was said.

May we ask about your status, Andrea, after your run-in with the TSA in Nashville?

It would be interesting to see the portion of the video that shows screeners ganging up on Paul when he attempted to step out of his cell.

It's been indicated that he had access to his cell phone while in the physical cell. If that is correct, I'm interested in knowing how that happened.

Don't you re-gather your belongings from the baggage X-ray when you go to wait for a groper?

Not if your belongings have been screened.

Yeah, that guy was a real d-bag. Probably still is.

    Hmm.

If he was selected for the MMW, then he was asked to empty his pockets where (presumably) his cell phone would've been located. Do they use the little plastic bowls still, where you put keys, wallet, etc.? If so, and the phone was never in his carryon bag, maybe he took it back with the other pocket stuff and used it?

Not that the details really matter, as smurf-clerks are too stupid to be consistent anyway, but I guess it's fun to speculate.

At BNA, since I have acted as witness to my wife's groping, they have 2 of those large, glass cubicle holding pens. We see this one in the Paul video, there's one in the Abbott video, there are 2 of them, they each seem to hold space for 4 gropees. There are 2 of those famous TSA stainless steel tables on either side.

For a pat down, some moron from the TSA will gather your belongings for you, and carry them into the room. For me, it's part of the whole opt out patdown charade. I purposefully load up multiple, and I mean like 7 or 8 bins, with all manner of things that could easily be put in 1 or 2. Plus my 2 carry on bags. I like to look at it as a stump the porter game. And when they try to stack them to make for easier carrying? No can do. This is my personal property and I'd really rather you not contaminate it with your filthy bins, or damage my liquids bag by stacking other bins on top of it. Or my jacket. Or my belt. I try to tie up as many people as possible. Hey, they've apparently been to charm school. They can smile and make "polite" small talk while they carry my loads of crap around. F 'em.

Anyway, sorry, back OT. At BNA, Senator Paul was probably escorted into the cubicle with his belongings and they attempted to begin a groping, where he declined to participate. Moronic as every member of the organization is, they then left him in the cubicle with his bombs, weapons, and incendiaries while blocking his access out. He therefore would have access to his cell phone, and has now "tainted" any evidence.

Thanks, barbell, for the explanation. It's rather mind-boggling, isn't it? He's being detained because he's suspect but he's given access to his cell phone. So if he had evil intent, he could just take the phone and set off his bomb - if that was his plan. And for this we are spending billions.

People have also been separated from their belongings while being groped. There's no consistency to this charade, it's all up to the whim of the individual clerks.

Correct, and that is the normal protocol. Once your belongings have been cleared, you can't come into contact with them until you have been cleared. Otherwise a real bomber might move his detonator from his back pocket to his laptop case.

Either they were planning on reinspecting/reclearing Sen. Paul's belongings, or they screwed up.

If that's the choice, let's just pause to consider that "planning" requires some degree of brain function, while "screwed up" can be done by any moron.
