    Wow. That's not something you hear about every day.

    I have to admit, I was amused that the author of the article felt that it was necessary to spend three paragraphs describing chainsaws, how they work, and licensing issues.

    They probably don't see a lot of chain saws in central London. When it comes to cutting tools, England is better known for its headsmen's broad axes.

    I doubt if there is any real licensing of chain saws, but in a business setting you would want to be careful who you turn loose with one. Another example here is a forklift -- anyone idiot can drive one, but in a business where OSHA regs apply, you do have to be trained & certified. You can do a lot of damage zipping around a warehouse with the pedal on the floor & two 4-foot prongs sticking out ahead of you (been there, seen it!).

    Here we just buy chain saws at Lowes or Home Depot, read the instructions, and try to come home with the same inventory of appendages.
